Meet the Gardener

Becci: Love, love, love my garden. It’s an extension to my house. More rooms to make use of - different seats in every corner to catch the sunny moment of the day. I like to have fun in the garden with mix and match planting. No rules, just put plants in where I want them hoping they grow. Colours all zinging off one another. Sculptural pieces popping out in between. Quirky corners that will inspire the onlooker. Veggies growing too from seed, making use of a poly tunnel. Love saving the bargain plants that no-one wants in the supermarkets looking all dried up and dead, but there’s always hope in another year for that plant. Just bought 4 Calla lilies for 25p each. I know this year is too late but next!?

I have a bird house village with blue tits nesting in 3 boxes. I love spending time watching them being busy. A dry river bed with a small pond at the end waiting for the wildlife to burst out.

I really enjoy my outdoor space.

Favourite flower or plant? Too many to say as love different ones at seasonal times.

Favourite season? Late Spring

My one top-tip for other gardeners: Have a go. Just do it. See what happens.
